Opening standard, typical tempo.  Tramps jam at 2:35, and
it opens with the usual Mike and Page funking.  Trey comes
in off key sustaining at 3:16.. eerie stuff from Page as
well.  Trey is making his 'doc spookily moan and groan..
very disconcerting.  Serious sustain in here.  By 4:15,
Trey has probably hit no more than 5 or 6 notes.  He
doesn't start going off until 4:25 or so, but he doesn't
really go anywhere.. he just hits another five notes or
so, and then goes back to eerily sustaining off key.  At
5mins, the MikeS tramps jam ending chords kick in...

The post-tramps jam segment is more of the same.. just
crazy sustained stuff from Trey that does absolutely
nothing for me, although he admittedly hits more notes in
this section.  Final MikeS closing chords at 6 mins.
Hydrogen at 6:45, and it is verrrry delicate and a little
slower than normal.  Just a wee bittt, though.  Trey kinda
screws around before he and Page begin the theme.  This is
a weird version.. Trey doesn't seem completely There, and
kinda screws around with it.  I wonder if he was wasted or
something.. or juggling at the same time.  Page and Mike
are really carrying this.  Fish toys with the rhythm at
times in here (which is unusual).  Trey comes in more
soundly for the final few measures.  But still, not that
pretty, even though he improvises a little ... just
not at all a smooth version.  A couple miss hits.. aw
hell.. one of the worst versions of H2 I've ever heard for
damn sure.

Weekapaug at 9:54, and Mike's opening soloing is funky and
snappy and quick as usual, and quite good.  Trey's opening
soloing is very repetitive and steady.. some sustain.  It
gets more interesting after the first twenty seconds or
so, but his guitar is slightly out of tune, and well, this
really hurts this version (didn't hurt the MikeS).  He

trills somewhat in here around the 12:30 point, but since
he's slightly out of tune, this isn't as effective as it
ordinarily would be.  It is still impressive to most
people I imagine... I just wish it were more in tune!!
He's raging all over the 'doc around 13:20..  Lots of
trilling!!  Some good melodious stuff from Trey, but as I
said, the slightly out of tune 'doc adds an Element to
this Weekapaug that I find unattractive.  Final segment at
14:30.. uneventful.  Total time 15:29.  C- rating.. just
not that great of a groove all around.  This version is a
JOKE next to 3/20/92.
