6/16/90 Townsend Family Park, Townsend, VT (Rvwd 4/95) I only have set 3 of this show, and it's missing the Contact, but if Set 3 is any clue, this must have been a great show! This MikeS was unfortunately one of the last things that Phish played here, and IT SHOWS. This is probably the lamest version EVER THAT WAS. I think a lamer version of MikeSGroove would be really hard to come across. It's too bad.. La Grange & Yamar open this set, and both are great! Look at the HFB listing: 6/16/90 Townshend Family Park, Townshend, VT Sck: Carolina On My Mind, Funky Bitch I: DC Bag, Divided, Wilson, Reba, Horn, Uncle, Bouncing, Timberwolf, Lawnboy, Possum II: Golgi, Esther, Tweezer, MSO, Bathtub, YEM, Lizards, Antelope III: La Grange, Happy Birthday song for Heather - Yamar, Foam, OhKePa > Suzy, Fee, Rocky, Caravan, Brain (with vacuum), Mike'S > Hydrogen > Weekapaug, Contact E: Contact, BBFCFM E2: GTBT I have an AUD copy of this 3rd set. It goes without saying that I would be interested in a SBD copy of this show, assuming you know what gen you have ... I really enjoyed listening to this set 3, until the MikeS came on. Mike's Song segues out of the HYHU "jam" that followed a fantastic Brain from Moses Dewitt. Outside of this segue, the opening is straightforward. The jam segment, though, is ok at best. Maybe my copy doesn't do it justice, I don't know. Trey just sounds like he's f@cking around and doesn't have any energy to give a damn. He must be really tired at this point, from the looks of the set list. This Mike's Song jam segment is probably the lamest that I've ever heard. It is longer than usual, but it is just soooo lame. You could actually walk away from it no problem. I'd give this Mike's an F-, before the H2 and Week even come on.. H2 doesn't make it in until nearly the 7 and a half min mark (that Mike's was long, but lame). H2 sounds out of tune at first, but then everything comes together (hmm.. is this my tape!?). An error here and there, though. Trey must just be exhausted.. I'm afraid to hear the Week. Week kicks in at just after 10. Mike is hot in the opening.. he doesn't sound tired in the least (but he wasn't prominent in His Song). Trey definitely sounds better in the Week -- more in control, lively. It is a solid version, but nothing so amazing as to redeem the hideousness that went on earlier. F rating.. Boooo. (even though this Mike's Groove is 17 minutes!!) This was the last show that Phish played until 9/13/90 at the Wetlands. BTW, the filler on this tape includes a poor quality Harpua that begins "Somewhere in the teeming jungles of Brazil... there lived an evil man. And the evil man was the guy singing that last song." Could someone tell me what date this Harpua is from, whether you want to trade for this show, and what "song" is being referred to? I have no idea. Marley is brought out onto the stage during this version (Marley is the Evil Man's pet..;^). A couple people yell for FREEBIRD before this Harpua, too.. what date is it?
