First of all, if you don't have this second set, get
it, because I think it makes Bomb Factory 5/7/94-2
sound like f*cking Romper Room.  This set is
INCREDIBLE!!  The first set is good, but far from
great.  Why is the 2nd set majestic, and why must you
get it?  Well, not just because of the Tweezer. That
would be ridiculous.  This has a great Tweezer, but
also: a truly awe-inspiring Reba, a brilliant Wilson,
and one of the most spectacular Mikes/Weekapaugs
ever!!!!  (not to mention  Amy Skelton and Gene
Simmons references before Terrapin) Ok.. I must
review this whole set. It is one of my favorite sets
of Phish PERIOD..

Just reviewing Tweezer would be like trying to just
review Tweezer at Bomb Factory 5/7/94 (though Bomb
Factory's Tweezer was more extensive than this one).
2/20/93 set two opened with a weird Wilson that had
an extra long spooky beginning.  This version really
smoked ...  Reba similarly was sick.  The jam was
beautiful, just gorgeous, and was a solid length (not
short like the old ones... damn those were short! but
also not as tasty as my fave Reba, Lowell 5/16/95..
or even 10/31/94, another great Reba).  Tweezer
followed Reba (that's right!).  Somewhat long opening
theme before the lyrics came in.  Severely
exaggerated lyrics in the beginning segment with Trey
and Mike doing a weird vocal jam (of sorts) that
sounded REALLY COOL.. almost like they were rapping.
Sounded like Trey was saying "Straight from the
sewer" or something.  This opening segment ALONE is
must-have.. it is very original and sounds great.
The jamming is very upbeat with lots of weird vocal
nonsense, topped off with a "How's everybody
feeling!!?" from Trey after the "Ebeneeeeezer."  The
jam begins at around the 4 minute mark, and it is a
very slow, steady Low Rider-like (not exactly low
rider, but close) jam.  I wish they wailed on this
more, but, alas, they didn't. Trey wanted to do Walk
Away (why walk away.. why not funk 49). Walk Away
comes in after 5 and a half minutes or so of
Tweezer.  Standard version, but Walk Away segues
groovily back into Tweezer!  THIS Tweezer segment is
just a slow funky jam that gets slower and slower and
basically peters out like a normal tweezer [Editor's
note: "normal" for 1993-4 versions, with the dying
out of the jam segment ending.] does.  So, only just
over 7 minutes of Tweezer (by itself). No big deal.
If I had to just rate the Tweezer, I'd have to give
it a 7.0.  Cool. (B) The beginning segment is what is
really interesting. What is MUST HAVE, though, is the
TWEEZERGLIDE that comes next.  That's right, Glide
comes next, but during the Glide "jam" (well, let's
just call it that) there are severe Tweezer teases
that skip in and out of this KILLER Glide.  At the
"end" of this Glide, Mike doesn't let go, and
GLIIIIIIIIIIIIIDES into Mike's Song.  Trey joins in,
too, sustaining the final 'GLIIIIIIIIIIIDE' into the
beginning of Mike's Song.. really funny.. There's
even a few Tweezer teases in the BEGINNING of Mikes
song!!  Later during the Mike's song, there are
SEVERE teases of Wilson, Reba (Trey plays nearly the
whole opening theme segment), Tweezer, LIZARDS!!, and
then Wilson again (BLAP, BOOM, BA DITTY BOOM DITTY
BOOM), Stash (real fast), and then the MikeS ends but
Mike starts singing the first verse of MIND!!!  Fish
plays a Mind beat, but Mike only sings a verse or
two. Trey drops out, and Page starts jamming... but
when it starts sounding like MikeS, Fish changes the
beat and Trey and Mike come back FIERCELY for a
significantly groovy MikeS pre-Hydrogen jam.
Hydrogen starts up, but soon they do a VIBRATION OF
LIFE into a KUNG, and THEN MIKE SINGS NITROUS...
"Your eyes may be feeling heavy. Your nose light and
your eyes heavy." ... works great with the pre-Kung
Vibration of Life going on.  Post Kung, Hydrogen
returns and then a SICK Weekapaug Groove that
includes both 'Have Mercy' AND 'Rock and Roll All
Night' (tip of the hat to Gene Simmons, who was in
the audience.. ;^).  'Fast' came after Weekapaug
(what a fantastic spot for this great tune!!), and
was beautiful (I apologize for loving this song..).
Terrapin had a really long introduction by Fish.. he
said that he was honored to have Gene Simmons there
(Fish idolized him at one time.. no surprise here!).
Fish thanked everybody.. Paul, Chris, Dave? Vinson or
someone, Brad Sands, Amy Skelton... not to mention
Mike, Trey and Page.. at one point Page started to
play HYHU while Fish was STILL talking.. it was
pretty funny.. (really).. anyway, Terrapin had a
great, Simmons-inspired vacuum solo.. and Hood was a
very strong closer (there are so many incredible
versions of Hood.. I think choosing between Hoods is
pretty damn hard [Editor's Note:  I hadn't heard
10/7/95 Spokane yet.]).  ANYWAY, get this SET. It is
must have without question, even though the Tweezer
Reprise is frightfully plebeian.  If I had to choose
between Bomb Factory 5/7/94-2 and this set, this
would win BEYOND ANY SHADOW OF A DOUBT AND WITHOUT
ANY AMBIGUOUS OR ANGST-RIDDEN FEELINGS.  It is a
spectacular set of Phish, folks.  One of my top ten
sets of Phish easy.
