Set 2 starts with a Tease Spirit into a spirited Llama. All right! I'm here, let's go! Fluffhead starts up immediately following Llama. Look, no version of this song is "flawless" which is to say without a single missed note or change, but this is a damn good performance of the song. Any Fluff from this era is worth hearing especially any Fluff that make's .net's Fluff "Jam" Chart. Sparkle is such a great follow up. Look there is way more to say about Fluff than I'm prepared to write in this review but one aspect I don't often see mentioned is that the subject matter of the song just really makes me sad. It's about the Dude's brother dying. It really helps to have such a joyous celebration of optimism follow it up.
OK! Mike's song is really good. For some reason the bootleg puts the whole jam with Hydrogen. This is bizarre. A lot of times the second jam get's prepended to Hydrogen but the whole thing? Anyway. Teen Spirit jamming really makes me smile. Mike is really on. Anyway, I really dig the entire Mikes Groove here. 'Paug has a tape glitch int he middle of it, but it's a solid '92 Trey shredpiece. Magilla keeps this great set going, love it, love the placement. There are better Ya Mars but this one is well placed again and it's fun and fast. Unfortunately the switch to AUD (?) in the middle of it is kind of jarring. It's not even a bad AUD, just takes the listener out of it for a moment. Anyway, the is a really good second set. Coil is good, again it feels really well placed, things are just clicking for me as far as this set goes! Hennrietta is good tonight, Trey's drums are very fun during the vac solo. Eventually the solo is cut "short" (seemed plenty long to me) do to "not enough suction". These bits are so fun. Possum takes us home with a bunch of secret language and a fun Wizard of Oz tease and some very nice shredding. After a Fire-y encore we're off to California!
This show is pretty great, I think it definitely deserves to be more talked about than it is.
